Branch Warren was born in Tyler, Texas.
His first competition was in 1992 when he won the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Teenage Mr. America competition.
His first National Physique Committee (NPC) event was Teenage Nationals, where he won again. His first IFBB event was in the 2004 Night of Champions competition, where he came in 8th place.
His first Mr. Olympia was in 2005 when he was in 8th place.
The following year, in 2006, he competed in his first Arnold Classic for second place. Falling to 7th place in 2007, he rose to 4th place in 2008
and 3rd in 2009, winning the title of "Most Muscular".

Branch Warren was 12th in his second Mr. Olympia contest in 2006.
Branch Warren also came in 1st place at the New York Pro 2007.
